Atlantic Beach
Sea Turtle Project

Five of the seven sea turtle species are found in NC waters. Loggerheads are the most active turtle nesting here and depend on safe, clean beaches and low night lights to survive. This local nonprofit’s mission is to protect and safeguard these endangered species.


Coastal Carolina
Riverwatch

Protects water quality and coastal habitat and promotes area businesses that practice sustainable, green policies. The coastal voice for clean water, they work in tandem with Plastic Free By The Sea and Plastic Ocean Project to reduce plastic and free our oceans from plastic contamination.


Friends of the Rachel Carson Reserve

🐣 READ: Rookery Rescue

Advocates and raises funds on behalf of NC’s estuarine and coastal habitats. Monies raised ensure sufficient funding for the protection and maintenance of the wild herds, wildlife habitats and educational programs.

Coastal Federation

Works closely with NC coastal communities to ensure a healthy thriving coast. The Coastal Federation protects and restores coastal habitats such as wetlands and oyster reefs, combats pollution from stormwater and marine debris, and educates people from all walks of life.
